Pitbull Puppy Training Tips
Congratulations, on picking the perfect dog in my opinion. Pitbulls are hearty, strong, very loyal, energetic, and make a great all-around family pet. And training your Pitbull can be a very fun endeavor. I am a proud Pit-bull owner, and I am gonna show you some simple steps for training your new Pitbull, to be a happy, loving member of the family!
If you're new Pitbull is a puppy, then your training is gonna begin basically as soon as you get him or her home. Expect a lot of whining when you bring your new pit bull puppy home. Especially, at night because they have just been separated from their mother, and they are not yet familiar with there surroundings. This is completely normal for your new puppy, and is to be expected. What I did for training purposes to make my new Pit-bull puppy feel less stressed, was I put a sheet or a big blanket over his or hers cage, I had bought previously. This does work and calms your puppy down, it makes it less stressful for the puppy because it makes it darker in the cage, and more comfortable to sleep. Training tip: make sure you put out fresh papers for your new puppy, because he or she is not potty trained yet and nine times out of 10, will have an accident before you wake up in the morning.
House Training Your New Pit Bull Puppy
Breaking in your new young puppy to not go to the bathroom in the house is not very difficult at all, all you need is a little patience. Every time your puppy has an accident in the house. Here's a little tip that I used with my Pitbull Champ when he was a young puppy. You pat them on the nose very gently, and tell them bad - put their nose by where they had their accident, not in it but close to there mess so they know that they have done wrong. Immediately pick them up and put them outside to do their business. Once they have finished doing their business outside, and you let them in then make sure you tell them good boy or girl. Training Tip: If you have a tasty treat on hand that don't hurt either. Keep repeating this puppy training routine, and he or she will eventually get the hang of it, and will have no more accidents in the house.
What TreatsTo Buy Your New Pitbull Puppy
Pit-bull puppies are just like any other puppy, and they are very mischievous and energetic. they will get into anything, and they will get into anything that they can get their little teeth around lol. They are just teething, and this is just a process of growing up. But you definitely need to take precautions so that he or she does not chew up things, that he or she is not supposed to. The corners of walls for example, if you have loose tiles, or linoleum on your floor be careful. My Pit - bull Champ had a lot of fun with my floor, this was my mistake because I left him unsupervised for a couple hours, which I should not have done! You should always put your new Pit bull puppy in a puppy proofed room, or his or her cage, if your gonna leave for a while. Make sure he or she has some tasty treats to gnaw on to keep them occupied. My personal favorite bone for my dog when he was a puppy, and even now he's 5 is called the Nylabone. It is specifically made for strong jawed dogs Pitbull, Rottweiler, German Shephard, etc...and is virtually indestructible. I highly recommend you purchase one of these dog bones.
Pitbull Puppy Exercise Tips
This is an easy tip, Pit-bulls in general are very active dogs, and they recommend at the bare minimum at least one hour of physical activity per day preferably more. But the bare minimum at least one hour. this can be a vigorous walk every day, or if you have a fenced in yard just let him or her run loose till they wear themselves out.
Train Your Pitbull Puppy For A Good Temperament
When I wasn't sure about Pitpulls in the past, I kind of fell into the stereotype that they are aggressive dogs that will attack you for the fun of it. After owning one I can say with the utmost certainty that my Pitbull is the best dog I have ever owned without a doubt! His temperament is second to none! He is actually the friendliest dog I have ever owned by far. Let's put it this way, Champ is now a healthy, happy, 5 year old adult Pitbull. And in those 5 years, I have never heard him growl even once, at another dog, or a person for that matter. I credit that to my training efforts with him, and being a caring loving owner. Treat and train your Pitbull right, and they will be your best friend for years, and years to come.
I wouldn't train my Pitbull in for the world, he is like a son to me, and I treat him as one. Congratulations on your new Pit-bull puppy, you made a great choice! I am confident with a little training, and love, they will be by your side to the very end. Dogs do not judge, are always smiling, and glad to see you when you get home from a hard days work to cheer you up. If your having a bad day, your dog or puppy, is always there for you to put that smile right back on your face. You are everything to your dog, your their hero, your all they've got in this world. They count on you! They will be your best friend if you let them. Treat, and train your new Pitbull puppy right, and they will bring you countless smiles, and laughter, and make your life that much more enjoyable!
