If you are the owner of an aggressive dog then it will be important for you to recognize the signs of aggression. Dogs can become aggressive for many reasons, check over the possible reasons below to see if any of these apply to your dog.
Medical Condition - Dogs can be aggressive when in pain, just like humans. Take your dog to the vet to get checked out for any possible medical problems that can cause aggression.
Pack Leader Problem - Your dog may think he is the alpha male in your pack. If this is the case then you may want to be firmer during your aggressive dog training to let your know dog you are the pack leader and he is just a follower.
Fear - Your dog may have an anxiety problem which causes him to lead a fearful life. Fear will cause any dog snap, or growl at any family member, stranger, or other dogs. If you think you have an anxious dog please see your local vet.
Aggressive Owner - If you yourself is an aggressive owner who promotes aggressive behavior than without a doubt your dog will retain these aggressive techniques. Your dog will be aggressive towards family members, strangers, and other dogs.
Aggressive Dog Warning Signs
Every dog has the ability to bite if driven to that point. A good thing for us dog owners is that dogs will almost always give you a few warning signs for acting aggressive. These warnings signs will tell anyone near him that he is not in a good mood so you better back off. If a dog is going to become aggressive they will often times growl, snap, show their teeth, or have their ears pinned back. Some other typical signs of approaching aggression can include a hard stare with large eyes, panting, a stiff body, or hair standing up on their back.
If your dog is showing any of these signs DO NOT punish him for it. Punishing a dog for giving you a warning sign will show him you don't care about his warning signals. That means in the future your dog won't give you any signs and will just attack without warning. By yelling at an aggressive dog you can almost encouraging his aggressive behavior. Dog react to your reactions. If you get really emotional, and scream and yell, your dog will respond with his own high emotions. He may not be doing it to harm you because he is just matching your emotional high.
If your dog is fearful, anxious, or nervous by nature yelling at him for will only cause more fear in him and this will lead to aggressive behavior and possible injury to you or others. If you have an aggressive dog please act fast to correct this problem. Not only will an aggressive dog endanger you and your family, but you can run into legal issues with an aggressive dog, which could lead to you having to put your beloved dog down.
Every expert dog trainer will always recommend new dog owners start their dog obedience training early. The right time to start training your pup is anywhere between birth and 6 months of age. Being able to train your dog by the 6 month mark is crucial to your dogs future behavior. By socializing your young puppy to many different types of people and other animals, your dog will understand that people are good. It will teach your dog not to fear people and therefore help reduce the risk of aggressive dog behavior.
If your dog does happen to display aggressive behavior what you should do is let out a loud, firm "No". Remember you do not want to yell, but you want to be firm and try not to let your emotions get to high. Once you get your dogs attention with the firm "No", then you an perform what is called a "time-out". A time-out is when you place your dog in a room and close the door for about 30 seconds to a minute. After a few times you dog will comprehend that when you acts out he will be put away from you, the pack leader, and he will correct his behavior.
While your dog is playing with his toys, it is never a good idea to start a "tug-of-war" game with him. All this game does is encourage your dogs aggressive behavior. Your dog will think that this type of aggressive behavior is appropriate and continue it.
If your dog is aggressive towards other dogs while on a leash, one tip is to give a firm tug on the leash, or a firm "No" to get his attention. You want your dog to look up at you and away from the other dog. You want him to understand aggression towards other canines is not healthy behavior.
If you are an owner of an aggressive K9 then I hope this blog post has helped you in anyway. I have provided a video below for you about training aggressive dogs. Please leave some comments and let me know what you think.

I understand precisely how it is truly, you grab that brand new, great smelling, affectionate dog and you plan to provide it all the things underneath the sun. It is a natural reaction for anyone who looks at the lovable, tiny puppy to give him or her with all sorts of things they want, nevertheless this can easily trigger various damaging behavior and make a great deal more work for you. Accordingly it is usually a very good plan to start your own puppy dog training promptly, and help your doggie know who's in charge.
As the owner you have to establish a connection together with your brand-new puppy. The partnership you develop has to possess a s

puppy cries, you are just demonstrating to him that he is actually in control, that he is the leader. If you grant your puppy free reign around your house, your puppy will by no means master self-control, training, and may lack respect for loved ones. A new k9 not possessing admiration for their owner is certainly the worst possible situation to have.
By giving into your puppy, he or she can mature to be an even much larger monster, with absolutely no obedience, disobedient as well as a lot of times aggressive toward other pets as well as individuals. Many dog owners whom possess these puppy dog training complications, often times merely give these animals away to shelters or worse, basically abandon these animals. I do not wish this to happen to any kind of puppy therefore carry out with your puppy dog training.
To gain control and respect from your new puppy dog you must challenge him with a few standard instructions. These types of instructions need to be equivalent to Sit, Stay, Down, etc. You need to make your dog sit down before he or she will go outdoors, or goes for a walk. Make your puppy comply with some important commands before the dog's activities and he or she will soon recognize he must comply to you before he or she receives everything that your dog desires. Keep in mind that dogs love a challenge, so convert this particular instinct into a constructive effort pertaining to you. Have your own puppy to pick up his toys, sit, retrieve tennis balls, anything at all that places you in command.
By simply making your puppy comply with several basic instructions on a daily basis, he will quickly understand that if he or she complies to your request, he will receive a treat. Or he will get their favorite toy, or even go for a walk. The faster your pet can pick up on this particular partnership you are building with your pet, the faster you will probably discover results throughout your puppy dog training.
As soon as your puppy follows through along with your instructions you have to at all times praise the pup very enthusiastically! As soon as your dog recognizes that he or she delighted you, he will want to carry on with this kind of behavior over and over again. You in no way want to yell or punish ones dog throughout your puppy dog training simply because this particular type of behavior will solely set you back, and help make your puppy plan to rebel against almost any command you require regarding him.

Attention Not Getting the Dog for the output of a command
If your dog's attention to the squirrel across the street, as you say "Sit is focused," do not expect it to happen. You have to get the attention of the dog first. This is a problem with a dog with an attention span of a microsecond, but think about focus - puppies can - as long as he has to concentrate on the squirrel? You need to be the center of his attention.
Lack of patience
This is THE biggie, especially if you have a puppy. They whine, wiggle, jump, bite, chew, pull on the leash, and are usually puppylike. But you can also learn a puppy to sit fairly easily. And you can move from there, step by step. Dog and puppy obedience training requires patience.
Inconsistent application of the commands
Training happens every day and is linked to everyday activities - there need not always formal. Assume that you always have your dog sit while you put the leash or before you put the food bowl. Then forget for a few days. Now the dog confused - I must not sit right? This happens when visiting different family members to the needs of the dog.
No "connection" with your dog
So you come home from work, leave the dog outside, feeding, and then forget that it exists. Or go buy the Super Pet shop for dog food and do not bring the dog. And you have no idea where is located the nearest dog park.
In other words, your dog is not a family member, only a part of the residential landscape. Maybe that's the way you treat your other family member's new?
Parting Words
You can learn to train your dog. And you can both live together in peace. Think of the back of each of the reasons for the failure described above. You love your dog, do not you?

My husband and I bought this boxer about 2 weeks ago. He is about a year old and we heard that the people we got him from used to abuse him. When we went to go and pick him up, he was very skinny, and whenever the husband would raise his voice, he would tuck in his ears, and go in a corner. we've ran across a couple problems with the dog. he was horrible on the leash, but that is getting a little better. but he is very aggressive towards his food and other dogs. he as snapped at my husband and i, and a few friends that have came over. he also bit a couple as well. i dont want to give up on the dog, since he has gone through hell with the previous family, but i am really running out of things to do. he lunged at me earlier when i was trying to walk him downstairs to take him outside, and it scared the crap out of me! i can really use any advice anyone has. we just moved to germany because of the miltary. i've called a couple obedience schools for dogs here but they don't speak english.
First question, why did you take this dog into your home? Felt sorry for it?
This is an animal with teeth and has the potential to inflict serious harm on you and yours. Unless you are very experienced in dealing with these types of dogs i cannot see how or why you would choose to get this dog.
If there are no trainers there (the dog has bitten people - it has gone past the stage for 'classes') you need to have this dog PTS.
Do not attempt to re-home, this dog should not become someone else's problem. Aggressive dogs with a bite record are very often PTS in shelters anyway.
He has snapped at both you and your husband, threatened your safety and that of your friends. Get the dog out of your house asap. I just hope there are no kids in your home.
